Michael Jackson-They don't care about us

There are so many happenings out there that make you want to curl up in a little ball and never leave your home. So much crime and hatred exists, it's unbelievable. I can't watch the news anymore.

You can't let the fear and the actions of others stop you from living your life though. It's so hard. Right when you witness a good deed, you hear something bad. It's never-ending. The news only causes stress and rises fear.

If you've experienced any kind of trauma in your life, the news, only makes it worse. You can't fall asleep at night, and when you do, you have nightmares.

Keep a positive attitude, tell yourself: Everything IS OK.

We tend to feel unable to cope. The best thing we can do is stay positive and understand these things are beyond our control.

You can't put your life on hold because of what's going on in the world. Yes, it's a scary place sometimes, but there is some good out there. Not everything is so bad.

Go to church, meet positive, down to earth people who can be of good support.

Join a community, a club, or your local gym.

Keep your mind busy. Distracting yourself with activities, will keep your mind off your worries.

I remember when 9/11 happened. I remember where I was and what time of day it was, as I'm sure many of you can remember as well. Sure, it was a scary thing that happened, and something I hope never happens again. But, the fact of the matter is you and I have no control over others actions. So, it won't do you any good stressing out about it.

Avoid caffeine. Excercise and eat a balanced diet. Say positive affirmations, say things that make you feel good. See the lighter side of situations. Out of the bad, comes good. Life experiences make us stronger and they teach us important life lessons.

Live in the moment and stop fearing the future. Enjoy each and every moment. Live in the Now, and only look forward. Don't look back and don't regret. You made the decisions you did because that's just what you did-and if it was a bad decision...take it as a lesson learned, your not perfect, noone is. Dwelling about the past is not a healthy chore. Dwelling about not knowing what's in the future should also be avoided.

RELAX. Take deep breaths. Breath in for 5 let your belly expand and your lungs fill, then breath out for 5. Kick it up to 6 seconds, than 7 and so on. You will feel much more relaxed.

Get outside, take a breath of FRESH air.

Worrying won't get you anywhere. Too much of it is not good for your health. You can make yourself go crazy worrying. Be conscious of your thoughts and stop them in their tracks when they start with the negative dialogue.

Take one day at a time and take mini-breaks to relax. Our lives are so hectic these days, there is so much going on throughout day, that we don't stop for a second and take time out for ourselves. Take some time out of the day for YOU.

You deserve some time off.

Take a mini-nap, you might feel refreshed for doing so.

I love a nice hot shower or even a bubble bath. It's super-relaxing.

Do the things that make you feel good. Distract your mind with your body, find activities and BREATH. You will feel better for it.

Most importantly, do yourself a favor and shut off the tv. Don't watch the news.

It's so good to find somebody that feels just like me about the world, my too children keep me going but I have been pretty close if not almost there of losing my religion, and I don't mean God, if he ever exists

I stopped my newspaper subscription and try to watch only the weather report.

I worry constantly about my mom, and also myself. If god would permit me to build a space ship and fly away from this awful world we live in and abduct my mom and take her to another planet like this earth. That is what I would do. I'm no village idiot-I read books on science and technology. I'm angry with god that I can't leave. This world had problems centuries ago, and it has them now. I would love to escape from all the worlds problems and be free.

i agree with you Christopher I want to pack up my loved ones and fly away form this horrible world! :(

Christopher, I hear you man. But: Don't be angry with God about the world HUMANS have ruined.

What if there were a better solution? There is. Don't leave the world in a mess, get rid of the mess. Humans have tried and tried.

God has allowed things to get this way for a reason. Believe that the reason is not to make you suffer. It is to prove a point to his enemy, The Devil. The Devil long ago challenged that humans don't need to listen to God to be happy. He made it seem as though God was holding something back from them (The Forbidden tree; Knowledge; Pleasure)(Gen 3:1-5) In doing this he challenged God's right to be the Ruler of Mankind. He Also Challenged us. He said of Job (And us by extension) that men would only serve God because of what He does for them. (Like a dog only doing tricks for a treat) The Devil said that if you make it hard for man, make him suffer, make it easier to do what you want, then no man would obey God's requirements (Job chapters 1,2) just because they want to. Many have, and many continue to do so, so the Devil lied.

Man's effort to govern himself apart from God's guidance and direction has resulted in what you see today. They have tried every form of government from Anarchy to Democracy and every one of them has failed to bring true peace of mind and freedom from the bondage to old age, sickness, and death.

Think about it: When God calls "time's up" on the Devil, he will have to answer for everything wrong with this world. His answer will be: "I've got nothing..." and he will pay.

The world as we know it will then be restored to the way it was before sin, and any who live in it will be restored to perfection, as they willingly submit to God's direction. Any pain and sorrow and suffering we had to go through will be erased as if it never happened.(Rev 21:3, 4) God has the power to undo anything that has been done.

It has to be done this way so no one will ever be able to challenge God and say 'if only he had a chance to prove it, he might have been right'. This way, God eliminates all of the "what if's". Any future challenges can be dealt with swiftly and immediately.

So instead of looking for a way off this planet, find out what God wants from us (it's not a lot -Micah 6:8)

I am not a Bible thumper, I just felt like I had to speak up for someone who gets all the blame for our failings. I encourage you to read those passages in your Bible.

This world is not the fault of religion, it is the fault of wicked people who have twisted religion and everything else to further their own agendas.

Good Post.

I wrote on the same topic...totally believe that the only sane thing is to cut yourself off from not just the news...but everything "current event"s related.

Will still watch 'the Soup' and other hard-news from the entertainment segment, but regular news? No way.

It is harder than most people think to stop letting them shout bad stuff in your ear.

Hell! stand in line in a bank or a dounut shop and there is a TV telling you how scary the world is, how you need to be on your guard.

Funny thing, though, like giving up booze or cigarettes, the desire (to listen to the scary news) never really stops.

You can control it, but every now and then, like walking past the smokers outside an office building, you get that feeling..."oh, one little article on the Mid East...what harm can it do? I can control it..."

lol
