Who likes to play poker?

Yep, gambling can become a big issue for families. You can lose your family over it and your house and all your money. It's addicting! I know because I play myself. My boyfriend likes to play as well. Sometimes he goes a little overboard, but usually he ends up being up and coming home with more than he left with. He likes to take risks sometimes. For a while, he was playing every week. It ended up being too much and he cut down alot. Now he plays moderately and I can't complain.

We even watch Poker after dark on TV together. There are usually always young kids that play and even 11th place comes home with a good chunk of money, way more than what they paid to get in. I don't see nothing wrong with playing poker, but when you lose sight of what your doing and start losing all your money, and then you keep going back to play, just to be in debt over it, that's a problem! When you play, you have set a limit. Set a spending limit and once your at that point, leave the table.

You know why it's SO hard. It's the luck of the draw. You could leave the table now, and that next hand could have been the best hand ever and you could have won all that money and then left. The thing is, you just don't know, your just addicted to the fact that you COULD have a better hand then the next guy. Heck, the guy betting all this money could be beat and just because he's betting high, doesn't always mean he's got the better hand. Maybe he's trying to bluff you out. Bluffing doesn't always work either. It's a hit and miss, but you DO have to know how to play. You have to know when to bet and when to just let it go. It's not always an easy call, either.

Texas Hold em' is by far my favorite. It's fun to play but you have to know when to stop, when to call it quits. If you don't have the money to play, don't play! It's never guaranteed that your going to win money, you might get lucky, but then again you might not. Play once in awhile, once a month or twice a month, but split the money up both times so your not spending it all in one shot. Make sure YOU CAN AFFORD TO GAMBLE FIRST. If you can't, then what? What if you lose it? Then you got nothin'!

Be smart about it!

I am holding poker tournaments for the poker players that hopefully aren't addicted and can afford to have fun playing. www.pokerfene.com

Come join me and have fun playing. I plan to have one every two weeks for now, until I get more visitors. I will host some free ones for the ones that like to play for free, but for the ones who want to win some money, I will be hosting ones for real $$$ as well. Hope to see ya there :)

I always play low limit - 1-2 or 2-4 (rare) I played on a 10-20 table for an hour That was too intense-One pot I saw was 5000!!! holy cow on -10-20 minimum buy in was 500$ I had won 700 playing 1-2 i put the 100 I started with back in the wallet When I left I had 200 total I was a winner - Thats how I look at it-I left a casino on the positive that is a victory in itself my new rule is if I am up 200 or more I will cash out and maybe comeback with another 100 but since my lasttrip its my new rule because I lost 520$ with a full house-ON THE RIVER I know 520 isnt alot of money but it sure stings!! It will be a while before I go back MAYBE September for me and my dads birthdays

Great topic I want to write a blog on Bad Beat Stories - we all have one- you can steal that idea if you want Poker does not fit in with my usual rants LOL
